His last handful of appearances, he's given away possession cheaply and passes back ten times out of eleven.
Never looks bothered, facially he could just as easily be stood in a lengthy bus queue.

I really, really hope that just more paper ****e, but it's disturbingly quiet on the Glen's-suitors list these last couple of months, while others are setting their sights on the US etc

The idea of a new contract being offered is bad enough, because he offers very little in comparison to what any bog-level FB would, but a three-year one is tantamount to a sacking offence in my mind. Unless he's paying us a weekly wage to stay at the club as part of contract of course.

I think if he does get one it's a reaction(a rash one) to the supposed glut of experienced players leaving. He wants to keep some of them, any of them, around. Either that or he thinks he's still useful which would worry me.

Johnson also has 3 clean sheets in his last 6 games (2 of them when our defence was shocking) and a match winning goal in that period, but oviously our change in fortunes is purely down to him not playing and not the change in formation.

Yes he has three clean sheets from the last six games he played in, but those same three clean sheets are also the only clean sheets from every game (league, domestic cups or CL) he has played in.


Here is another stat for him. Every game this season in which we conceded three goals Johnson started.


Now I don't think he is the only reason behind the first team being weakened, but I do believe that he is one of those reasons. He just does not offer an awful lot anymore and has not done so on a regular basis for some time.
