Very early on Skrtel had to roar at him to close down their winger and he just stood there beside Skrtel so Martin had to rush out and close him down. It happened again about 5 minutes later. That's the sort of ****e I've been seeing from him for far too long, not lack of ability.

Hopefully today gives him a boost, he seems to be a confidence player.

so frustrating, as we all know he has the ability. his lack of motivation has been a shocker. a couple of decent runs today, and very brave to chuck himself on the end of the blokes boot and fluke a header.

It's both. It can be more than one thing you know. He's lacked effort for me and plenty of others for far too long.He lacked effort in the first few minutes while not bothering to close his man down. Opinions, your entitled to yours.

I think glen Johnson has lost that explosive acceleration he had through injuries and age. His offensive game in particular has deteriorated because he no longer has it. Its a struggle for many very quick players to adapt their games when it goes.

Think it also probably affects his confidence and decision making. I. E he tried to go through Pieters when you would of thought he could easily outpace him down the line. At least the johnson of a few years ago would have been able to.

I'm chuffed too, & it's wishful thinking if you're hoping it'll lead to improved performances. I'm not in Glens camp & IMO he's past it. But is it because he can't be arsed? No, it is heck.

It's not just his attacking game, it's his defensive game. Has to drop off & give them so much space. And they nearly always whip in a cross because of that.
