Btw, I've met and drank with Chris Waddle a couple of times and he's a really nice guy. A bit dim, but good dim, if you know what i mean.

Still lives in Sheff doesn't he, and still turns out for some Sunday league side too. Him and David Hirst used to play for Brunsmeer . Know who he plays for now?

I think he still does play 5 and 7 a side games at a sports club in the leafy suburbs, although less so than a few years ago. I'm a member but only go to use the bar every now and then. No idea what the team is.

He definitely plays Sunday league XI a side still...I know someone who played against him last year and he also mentioned it on commentary in one of our games earlier this season.

He was amazing in that spell at Wednesday. Saw a lot of him. Pretty much every game in fact. I remember him destroying West Ham on his own. They stuck three men on him...one of them was David Burrows, and he continually waltzed past/through them all. Amazing. Not really taken seriously anymore which is a pity, he was a quality player.

He did wonderfully well at Marseilles as well. They loved him there. I think he was around 33/34 when he went there!? He was arguably their best player while they were one of the best teams in Europe at the time.

That Marseille team was superb. Abedi Pele, Basil Boli, Deschamps and errr Waddle. He was class there no doubt.

Just checked, he was 29 when he went there. He then went to Sheffield Wednesday, thought it was the other way round. **** me, that was a long time ago. Time flies ffs.

my mate from uni has played against him!!! funny as ****, i hadn't seen him in years, he was my captain of the team i was player/manager for in uni - phones me up out the blue....guess waht - i've just played against chris waddle!!!

he said he was ****ing intense, my mate fancied himself as tough tackling centre mid, so first opportunity went across to snap and bang....got flatenned as waddle seen it coming and stood his ground. - waddle played centre mid, then moved to centre back, won everything in the air, never broke into anything more than a light jog, never gave the ball away, made two and scored a free kick from 30 yards

my mates team got battered but was buzzing - apparently he was a top bloke and the other lads in waddles team says he basically finances the club - sorts out kits, training kits, balls etc.
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do
