Theres no doubt that most of my absolute favourite moments at Anfield over the past 3 and half years have been down to Torres. Some incredible goals and some electrifying moments just because of his magic.

But to see him in a Chelsea shirt will be sickening. Yuck

You're a world class player on your day and could have retired from this great club as a legend but I understand if you didnt believe that we would once again challenge for the honours you so desire.

We've made a decent profit from your sale and you'll earn a lot more than we would rightly be prepared to pay you so I say good luck

Granted I would have understood it more if you'd joined a club in Europe where you wouldnt get kicked about so much or where your team wasn't past it's peak but I guess the lure of London was too much.

I can't promise everyone will feel this way as this game brings out a lot of emotion in the fans but I for one will cherish the goals and the memories and will look out for you in your new venture. Just dont expect me to be so supportive when you play the mighty reds.

Am I the only one who can see this rationally and recognise that he's not a local lad, he does want to be the best he can be and earn the most he can earn?
Obviously I'm gutted but he gave us so many great times. He is a legend. I don't blame him for leaving either. We're not gonna win the league or the CL any time soon.

I also feel sorry for Newcastle. OK, they have got a load of cash, but they can't do anything with it until the summer.

      But we move on.

      We improved after Rush left.

We won the CL after Owen left.

We will improve on the past 18 months.
      Oh I don't know.

**** him I'm not wishing him well. Hope he endures a miserable time there.

Although having said that, I'll be behind when Chelsea play the Mancs (twice) later this season. If he helps them win the league and stop the Mancs winning 19, I'll be very pleased.

I used to love him. First player for years to make me feel like a kid again. Bye Nando.

Honestly I believe, now, that if Real win the champions league and league, Torres would have part of that! I used to believe the above, however now I don't know.

I would like to Wish the Torres family the best of luck in settling in London. I hope his kids don't turn out to be 2 faced snake cunts!

He can go to **** and that's coming from someone that idolised him. Made me feel 10 years old again when Fowler was my hero and now he's gone to Chelsea of all ****in Clubs.

Hope he has a horrible time in London.

He loves Athletico, it's his boyhood club.

No matter what anyone thought he didn't/couldn't have those feelings for us.

He would never play for the white of Madrid.

A really great player and a joy to watch. Unfortunately his conduct towards the end of his time at Liverpool, the self absorbed sulking on the pitch as well as his part in this transfer, has left a very bitter taste. I hope that him and Chelsea don't win anything at all together.

Collymore is talking absolute ****e saying he'll have more peace and quiet in London, funnily enough Torres himself said when he's in Liverpool he's never hassled by fans.

Gillett, Hicks and Purslow. The three men behind Torres leaving.

I can understand that he left. Players with his playing style, sprint technique etc, very very often loses to much pace because of injuries and won't be able to play at the top of the game as long time as for example a player like Drogba. He may only have three four years left at the top.

Could we challenge for the big titles before that? Who knows? Torres obviously decided not to make that gamble and left.

He took the secure option. He will now play at a club that will challenge every season. Trophies more important than loyalty.

He did the same choice when he left Atletico. Many, many players make the same choice.

He isn't a local lad so it was only when he would leave, not if IMO. When we sign a foreign player then they will leave after a few years.

i think kenny put it nicely

the club is bigger than any one man.

lets move on and show some class

us showing a lack of class doesnt say anything about torres lack of class at timing.

and remember he could have gone in the summer which would have been worse

                                What he said...

In an ideal world he restarts Chelsea's campaign and propels them to the title this year, ahead of the scum. Next year Chelsea finally win the ECL backed by Torres goals while we show that no player is bigger than the club by restoring the glory days and winning the title thanks to Carroll, Suarez, and Adam.

                                Everybody wins... except United.
