    Daniel Alves constantly insulted

SAO PAULO -- Brazilian right back Daniel Alves says he is subjected to racist insults from spectators during nearly every match he plays with Barcelona in the Spanish league.

Alves told the Brazilian Folha de S. Paulo newspaper Tuesday that he is constantly insulted and repeatedly has been called a monkey during matches. He said "unfortunately" he has "learned how to live with it."

He says clubs in Spain try to act against racism but he believes "it will never end."

Alves is in Paris with Brazil for Wednesday's exhibition against France.

Great avatar arn. And what Alves said is so true, he shouldn't have to learn to deal with it.

Alves is a fabulous player. He can be inconsistent but on his day, he's the best right back in the world.

Now I understand why he most probably will leave Barcelona and join City or Chelsea.

Money is of course a part of it but the racism is IMO the key reason.

Agreed, I think he's better than Maicon.

Now that Gary Neville has retired I agree with you.

Was it Lawrenson who said that the other week on Match of the Day? ("Gary Neville is undoubtedly the best right back the premiership has ever seen") or something of the sort.

He's right though, surely. I mean, since 1992 when it was rebranded as the Premier League, who's been better? I hate saying it, like, but it's true isn't it?
