    Jonjo Shelvey

Liverpool have been dealt a blow with the news that Jonjo Shelvey will be out of action for 12 weeks with a tendon problem in his knee.

The England U19 international will now begin a lengthy rehabilitation programme with the club's medical staff at Melwood.

Speaking to Liverpoolfc.tv today, Shelvey said: "I'm a bit down at the moment but I'm just hoping now I can come back stronger.

"I am now going to take a 12 week rehabilitation and hopefully I'll be back soon."

Basically out for rest of season really. By the time he gets to full match fitness season will be over methinks.

Shame as he was progressing well.

He was holding his own in the PL without pulling up trees. Shame for him but we'll cope.

Its usually Torres we're hearing about now. How has he remained unscathed? Also, did Uruguay (Suarez) play last night?

Chance for Pacheco to move up the order and get the sort of sub appearances Shelvey has been getting? Id like to see him get a few more games.

He'd have been a handy player to have for the Europa games, but he himself is no loss to the club at this stage. I was more thinking a blow for the lad himself as he was progressing well and getting a decent amount of game time.

Hopefully his injury does allow someone else to step up.

As much I hate to see any of our players injured I too think this may give an opportunity to Danny to get some playing time.

Hopefully Jonjo will recover fully and be ready for the start of the next season.

Surely Cole should be the man to step in?

who is Kenny going to bring on now?

Pacheco? or does it mean more time for poulsen?

It's a shame for him because that's basically the season and he was featuring quite a bit under Kenny, hopefully we can give a chance to someone like Pacheco while he's out.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Kenny doesn't seem to be a big fan. I would not mind seein' him getting some playing time. He's better player then what he has shown thus far.

If he can get the confidence back (certainly Kenny, if he fancies him, can assist there) and stay healthy he could help us in climbing up the table.

It would be nice to see a bit of Pacheco before the end of the season. If not, I think he'll move on soon.

Not so sure. I'd prefer to see youth get their chance mate. Big games I'd probably give cole the nod but we need to let the young guys show what they can do.

He's been doing well coming off the bench. It's all part of his education and it's a set back for the lad.
