And lets not compare Gerrard to Shelvey, similiar age not so much similiar attributes, getting ahead of ourselves IMO. If Shelvey can be even a quarter of the player Gerrard has been we'll be doing well, players like Stevie don't crop up often.

IMO If he is good enough he will be with LFC long term, and if he is not he won't. It's good for the player himself to get regular football & win win for us as if he improves he will come back, and if we see it that he isn't quite up to scratch his market value will surely have improved so it's good for business too.

completely agree with this. Only with regular playing time can he improve, whether or not he will be good enough for LFC first i'm not so sure though.
I don’t think he’s that far off and obviously Kenny doesn’t either or else he wouldn’t have recalled him from loan.

I'm actually a bit disappointed that we haven't seen more of him recently and I was hoping he'd have started against Brighton.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

IMO us sending him on loan again shows exactly that he is far off a first team starting position.

Needs game time, needs to improve and grow as a player, hopefully at Boro we can see that. Can only be a good thing for LFC IMO.

I'm not disputing the value of the loan deal, but I'm more inclined to think that the reason he isn't getting game time here is because there are more established players ahead of him and not becuase of his lack of quality. And there is nothing worng with that.

I don't think he's ready for regular first team football yet, but I'd have had no problems with him making the odd appearance here and there and just think it's a bit harsh to say he's 'nowhere near ready'.

Besides, he proved last year that he's a better LB than Konchesky, not that that says much.

          all fair points mate.

Suppose the thinking behind it as you said is there are better players ahead of him in his position, he is young and Kenny obviously feels that we have squad depth enough to cope without him. Good move for player and club IMO.

my 6 month old cocker spaniel is a better LB than The Konch

Is there a reason why he didn't go back to Blackpool? I'd like to have seen them come up and then take a few of our players next year in the PL.

Bar the Brazilian era, I don't particularly like Boro.

I'm a master of disguise mate!

When I say give these lads a chance I don't mean play them from the start, just try and give them 20-30 minutes here and there let them play see what they can do.

We're simply not in a position where we can bring young players on in the last 20 of games, we are never that comfortable to be honest. He's young and he'll benefit from this hugely. I'm friends with a lad that knows Jonjo really well, he's living thedream playing for us, he's going nowhere.

It'll only be a good move if he gets playing. If he's swapping our bench for theirs, I'd rather he stayed here.

                          He'll play regularly.

He is too good for them.

Yeah he should get in ahead of Barry Robson and Julio Arca

Barry Robson's leaving anyway isn't he, signed a deal with some MLS side so I imagine The Jonj will get in ahead of him.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’
