Evans reaction clearly affected Halseys decision and if you watch that gif and look at the delayed reaction of Evans its clear he is play-actingOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostAnd also because Evans squealed and rolled around.
Not forgetting of course those cunts Ferdinand and Giggs getting right in the ref's ear, as they always do.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

I don't recall two players ever being sent off for going into the same challenge before. Even two yellows is pretty unusual - I'm struggling to think of an example.
Can anyone else?
To me, there is a case for sending both off (yellows for each player at a minimum). I just wonder if it even occured to the ref that both players were culpable? I guess his approach was that blame had to be apportioned one way or the other, so he went with blaming Shelvey.Oh I don't know.

Remember when Fellaini and Kyrgiakos two-footed each other? Naturally our lad got sent off, theirs got away with it.Originally posted by dom9 View PostI don't recall two players ever being sent off for going into the same challenge before. I was just thinking about that, I remember it clearly. Looks like it says in the rules, "the player that makes a worse face gets away with it."Originally posted by Shaggy View PostRemember when Fellaini and Kyrgiakos two-footed each other? Naturally our lad got sent off, theirs got away with it.

I never saw that blown up close up before. Evans did not get the ball.
When seeing the normal replay during the game (i.e. not magnified in super slo-mo), to me it looked like a legit challenge.Oh I don't know.

Yup.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostRemember when Fellaini and Kyrgiakos two-footed each other? Naturally our lad got sent off, theirs got away with it.
It would be interesting to see a ref send both off. It would most probably set a precedent as it just does not happen.Oh I don't know.

**** off you patronising cunt.Originally posted by Scotsdave View PostYou've picked the still that suits your argument best. Well done, have a biscuit - now back to bed while the adults chat.
Let's at least start by acknowledging the referee was within his rights to send Shelvey off, and an argument can be made for Evans as well - if this isn't the starting point of a sensible discussion then there's really no point.
The idea that Shelvey has been wronged and Evans committed the foul is just not supported by what actually happened.
The still shows two feet off the ground studs first however you spin it, it's a two footed challenge with studs up - red card all day long, can't see any arguement for anything differentLast edited by RichC; 24-09-12, 01:22 PM.
