But that is not the same as I can't have a critical opinion about a player in a position where I think we can improve.
The same goes with managers, and I even for most matches managed to support Hodgson on match-days, but I sure as hell was critical about him afterwards. Where I draw the line is the plain idiotic abuse of our players and managers, that plenty of people on here showed towards a certain trio just a few months ago, and it should be beneath people having to do that, and honestly that behaviour made me mad.
We might as well stop all discussion about LFC, the players, the matches if supporting equals not being able to utter a critical opinion about it. Being a supporter means more than just blindly following the heard IMO.

Kuyt confirms contract talks
Liverpool attacker Dirk Kuyt has revealed that early talks regarding a new contract at Anfield have been 'positive'.
Kuyt has another season to run on his existing deal with the Reds and he is eager to remain part of the club's long-term plans.
The 30-year-old, who can play on the wing or up front, has made over 220 appearances for Liverpool since moving to Merseyside from Feyenoord in 2006.
The Holland international has confirmed discussions have started over a new deal and he sees good times ahead for the Reds following Kenny Dalglish's return as manager.
"My contract has one more season to go after this but there are things happening," said Kuyt in The People.
"We have had some talks and I can only say it looks positive.
"I feel at home in Liverpool and I don't want to leave here.
"It has been a difficult time for everyone at the club with the changes that have happened since last summer but now I can sense something good is happening - I think Liverpool are on the way back."Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I think everyone recognises Dirk's contribution over the years, but if we're serious about playing good football and showing true attacking quality - especially against weaker, deep-lying teams - then there's no place for Kuyt except as a squad player at best.
He always does a job when we need to harass and close up shop, but at the end of the day, effort takes no skill.
