I was thinking about this last night, Rafa got slaughtered last season for our performances and where we were in the league.

Chelsea have been **** for most of the season currently 5th and yet still talked as this all conquering side, Spurs get rolled over by Blackpool and deservedly yet you won't hear anyone making comments about this.

Point being here is that clearly there was an agenda with LFC, not sure at the moment with Kenny being back at the helm but by christ do we get a tough time in the media!

In fairness......Ancelotti's position has been questioned a fair bit over the last couple months, without probably being constantly to the fore like with Rafa.
Do agree about part of the media's agenda with us though.

                  Good old Gennaro

Gennaro Gattuso has confirmed he will not be travelling with AC Milan to White Hart Lane for the return leg of their Champions League last-32 clash with Tottenham.

Spurs were 1-0 winners at the San Siro last week, but the match was overshadowed by an angry confrontation at the end between Gattuso and Tottenham coach Joe Jordan.

The 33-year-old midfielder was subsequently handed a four-match ban by UEFA for assaulting Jordan, and has now decided not to support his team-mates in London for his own safety.

"I would like to go to White Hart Lane for the second leg but I have been advised not to," he told Italian radio.

"I have been told there will be 47,000 people there just waiting to give me a slap, so I will stay in Milan."

Gattuso also hinted UEFA's punishment had been harsh on him, adding: "At least they didn't throw me in jail for a month."

Have I missed something with Torres lol - because the commentary at times last night were waxing lyrical about him like he played out his skin and scored 7, and the bbc report says...

Torres showed signs of returning to his best against Copenhagen and, despite failing to score in his three outings since moving to the Blues for £50m from Liverpool in January, Ancelotti was satisfied with the Spaniard's contribution.

"His performance was really good," said the 51-year-old Italian. "There's a little bit of disappointment because he could have scored. But it doesn't matter. His movement with Anelka was so good

Are the media trying to force everyone to believe that like hodgson being a safe pair of hands, and harry redknapp being a top honest bloke, Torres is a striker that is in form, looking sharp and a bargain at £50m....

I watched the game....i just saw the same below par peformance we have seen all season, some shocking touches when he had a couple of great chances, and really nothing worth shouting from the roof tops about.....especially when you consider this was against FC Copenhagen, who didn't look like they had a tackle in them and sat off chelsea making it a pretty easy tie for them

Obviously I am going to have a bit of bias against him and a bit of a bitter taste in my mouth after he left us - and i don't want to see him do well anywhere he goes now - But when you look at his peformances and more importantly his body language for us for the past year - and then you have the excuses of well his heads not in it, or he isn't match fit...........And then he gets his dream move to super lovely chelsea and all should be rosy, plus he has played enough football the past month or two with liverpool and chelsea to be match fit..........Whats changed???? because i have watched him in all 3 games and to me he just looks the same as when he was here.

If the big move he wanted hasn't motivated him enough to be firing on all cylinders in his first few games for chelsea, then what the **** will....

He will eventually get goals for chelsea - he is too good not too, he'd get goals if he played for Wolves. But just because he'll score a few doesn't mean he'll be a success, and I certainly can't see any signs of him ever showing that he was worth £50m - the longer he goes without scoring the harder it will get, the more it will piss off Drogba, and the more it will upset the Chelsea squad.

And I am ****ing loving it

what i am not looking forward to and they tried it last night....the commentators where sooooo desperate for torres to score....is that when he eventually does score, they'll be a media frenzy about it - ****ing hell, they are trying to talk up his half decent performance against a ****e team like he played like Messi at his best.....imagine what it would be like today had he actually scored last night!!

He did look dangerous, but agin very laboured when it came to the final killer touch.

He will score goals for them but in no way will they get from him what we did in his first couple of seasons. No way.

You'd expect him to look half decent against the worst team left in the tournament.

I only saw the second half last night, and he looked to be putting in the same iffy performances he was churning out for us, albiet with the odd decent touch.

He looks desperately short of confidence and a long way from the Torres we all used to know.

Still hope he scores a hat trick this weekend.

See i don't think he did look dangerous....if anything, Copenhagen made him look dangerous.....they had no real fight or bite or any desire to get close to him - it's quite clear, that torres is one of these guys you can get at as a defender - not like hit him hard and he hides type, but the kind that you can really frustrate with little ankle bites, shirt pulls, obstruction type fouls that stop him from moving etc - most teams in the prem will try and do that, sometimes he is so good that it makes no difference, but most of the time, certainly the last 12 months, he seems to crack and he just sulks and loses interest and throws the toys out the pram - copenhagen didn't try that at all

                                I'll qualify that.

I hope he scores a hat trick against the Scum and again when they meet for a second time.

Outside of that I hope he doesn't score at all for the rest of the season.
