Well it should be handled to whatever degree by the police, whether that's cautionable or more, but it is an automatic sacking offense by the company regardless.
Bringing any kind of firearm into the workplace, never mind injuring a member of staff is more than enough justification for any disciplinary action.

Not that Chelsea would be that way inclined with Cole, but the point stands.

I think hitmen are effectively freelancers, aren't they? They work on a contract basis so I expect, for tax purposes at least, they're regarded as self-employed. So I'm not sure sacking is an option, although clearly the contract can be cancelled.

Obviously if a hitman were officially employed by any organisation then this scenario could be a disciplinary matter. I'd have thought to start an informal discussion with their line manager would be appropriate. Repeated failure to take out targets would clearly require the involvement of HR, probably additional or remedial training and, if the problem still persists, then termination of employment is probably in the best interests of both parties.

I'm assuming that termination of employment doesn't equate to being shot.
        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Good point. Ok, forget the sacking, but surely a contract should be taken out on his head by now by whoever contracted him to take out the student.

Does anyone else wish that he had shot torres in the knee instead??
I think it's a foul, and if the ref gives it. He got to give a penalty. I know it's outside the box, but you see them given that close to the area. So if the ref gives it he's got to give the penalty as it so close to the area. But I think it's a penalty. Robbie Savage 8/11/06

Are you watching Manchester United? Are you watching Chelsea? This is Liverpool F.C taking over the bloody world!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It certainly wasn't publicised in advance. We didn't have any posters on the noticeboard at work.
              Oh I don't know.

                  I don't know anything about that. That's Marsh's department.

You'd be sacked from any other job for this. I seriously doubt Cashley had a cheap one either.

WTF was he doing bringing an air rifle to work in the first place?

The lad should tell the police he thought it was a real gun and get Cashley took up on firearm charges.

We all know what will happen. Cole will pay Tom Cowan off so he won't press charges.

The end result will be that Cowan will be a richer man and Cole will continue to act like the scumbag he is.

I have a feeling that it happened before in some of the many alleged rape cases against rich football players.

Abramovich will be proud, Cole will get a pay rise and maybe a promotion.

I think you're all being too harsh on Cole for this. So he brought a gun to work and shot some bloke on work experience or whatever. Big deal. We've all done it. Happens every day.

What are the chances of Man United fans being witty enough to shout "Shoot!" every time Cole gets the ball tomorrow?

Thats racist, just coz he's black, doesn't mean he carries a gun and goes round shooting all day.
