just bizarre - from someone who is just not a tackler, not even ever aggressive, he just lost his head - very poor considering he's played in plenty of big games for liverpool/england and spurs - very rash - ruined the game really from a neutral perspective because 1-0 down away and down to 10 men it was only going to go one way which it did.

The main issue for me about any attempt at a comeback is, stopping madrid scoring - i think they'll get at least 1 - which means spurs would need 6!!

Crouch can have no complaints - both yellows IMO.

Spurs just looked out of their depth and out of place in the Bernabaeu last night. It was good while it lasted, and cannot see them getting back in the CL for a while now.

Don't worry, they've got Bale, he's as good as Messi.

Each to their own, but i think personally think he's an arrogant, lazy ****** with a **** attitude to the game.

Arsenal fans often complained of his lazy performances and it continued at City.
Not to mention being involved with fights with former team-mates and current team-mates.

He could be one of the best strikers in the world if he put his mind to it, got everything - pace, power, skill the whole works.
Similar to Drogba in many ways, but at least he puts the graft in.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

                  FLMAO at Inter.

That's what happens when you hire a 'yes' man as manager. When it comes down to the crunch they have no backbone or guidance. Whatever you say about Benitez, there's no way they would have surrendered that game like that. Losing 5-2 at home to Schalke for FFS That's just so depressing. The signs were there against Bayern. Moratti

On another note, Xabi Alonso run's that Madrid side.

Inter's players must be all at sea - they've been used to Mourinho playing Eto'o at full back, defending as a group of 10 at a time, ultra-rigid. Then they got Rafa.

So to go from Mourinho/Rafa to Leonardo, who seemingly has no clue about defending or even a desire to get them defending properly...well, they must be confused.

I only saw the highlights last night but I think it's the most open 1st leg CL quarter final I've ever seen. Insane approach from Inter.

how good was that first goal tho - was it stankovic! beauty strike - i too just watched the highlights and had no idea about the goals, - so when the long ball goes foward and the keeper comes otu and heads it away i actually said "hmm well played keeper..." - then bang pick that out - the keeper's done everything right, he's out quick, brave, times the header well and heads it high and away....he ****ing heads it clear! from his own box to the halfway line!!! thats as good as a defensive header can get

                      - but what a strike

I only saw the highlights too and it looked like the last goal was being played in a friendly charity match not a Champions League QF

Leonardo is a clown, he's lost 3 out of 3 Milan Derbies since he's been a manager and lost 4 from 5 CL knockout ties.

Wonder who they'll go for in the summer.

                            Most probably Spalletti.

One Italian journalist said that they will sign up Leonardo so they can sign up young Brazilian talents easier and have a better chance to sign Kaka.

He said that three months before Rafa got sacked.

"You gotta keep it calm and not lose your head. Keep it simple, keep it calm, keep it real. Keep it simple too. Good lad Michael, good lad Peter. You've got to keep the ball and retain possession. The ball needs to be kept. Possession is what you need. You see Peter didn't keep it then. He lost possession. He didn't keep it. The ball went away. He lost the ball. He didn't keep possession. It's a big stadium. A stadium's stadium if yer like. At this level the stadium is big. Keep it calm! Stay on your feet! To be fair Peter was diving in there. At this level, in this stadium, you've got to keep on your feet, you've got to keep calm, you can't go to ground. Not in this stadium at this level with this kind of referee. Peter, Michael, Jermaine and Jermaine, they've got to keep calm and stay on their feet. To be fair Peter dived in a bit. As an Englishman he should have kept on his feet. 'Arry will have told them. He'll have said to them "As Englishmen stay on your feet. STAY ON YOUR FEET. Keep calm", he'll have told them, "Keep calm and stay on your feet". It's a big stadium. Aaron got a tummy bug. In actual fact a tummy bug's what Aaon's got. Stay on your feet Aaron. Stay on your feet. In this stadium, at this level, in this competition, with this referee, against this team, against this smashing team, you can't go down with a bug. You've got to stay on your feet. That was a big blow for 'Arry when Aaron went down. A big blow. A big blow's blow. A big blow's blow's blow....."
