At the same time, seeing the way he conducts himself makes me love Kenny all the more. The difference is night and day - Kenny oozes class.
Yeah, i wouldnt disagree there. Ideally you want a manager who is brilliant at winning and has a brilliant character too. If you're going to miss out on one of the two, i'm willing to let the personality side of it fall by the wayside if the team is winning.

I doubt Fergie will make the same monumental tactical **** ups he did that day. I think they are capable of the holding Barcelona - they can be a very well organised defensive team. Their problems come when they think they can attack a well organised team (such as ourselves). I think a United vs Barca final will be tighter than people expect.

So its a difficult one for me

I'd definitely put Pele & Maradona ahead of him...
I honestly think it is more or less impossible to compare across eras. So many things change from the fitness of players to the way rules are interpreted. It seems to me the best way is to just accept a pantheon of players who were streets ahead of anyone else in their generation.

It's odd how the only people who mention Di Stefano in these debates are ex-players and geeks.

Mourinho said that he didnt say anything to the referee, he merely applauded his decision and showed him a thumbs up

Yes of course, you werent being sarcastic, were you?

He needs to wind it in a bit, going too far now.

Can se why he wants to go the mancs though, at least they get favoured in the premier league as much as allegedly Barca do in the Champions league.

                  Me too, sadly.

Fingers crossed they get some nsty injuries & have to play a half-fit Owen at CB.
                  3rd place. Worst champions ever.

I think playing style is important too. Everyone wants to watch attractive, attacking football. If / when Mourinho goes to Utd, they'll be a far more defensive team than they are now.

thing is he's making it about him again and about things outside of the actual football itself which is taking the focus away from Madrids performance and tactics and the fact Barca were the better team.

He does this sort of thing everytime he gets beaten like this, loves to find reasons why him and his team were cheated out things.

I blame Mourinho for turning El Clasico into a ****in circus. He kills the game off with his park-the-bus tactics so there's no chance anymore of actually seeing an interesting match, all that's left is a bunch of nervous and provoked players who foul and dive around the pitch and cry to the ref. It's pathetic.

So it is more than a club after all, it's a drama class as well.

Funny, I was thinking that when people were mentioning this Barca team as being the greatest ever. The Real team who won the European Cup 5 years in a row would undoubtedly beg to differ.

I agree with you - basically it is impossible to compare teams and players form different eras. We should be happy that it looks like we have another great team to watch in our era.

no. the players destroyed the game. every foul the referee was surrounded by players (particularly barca) and every touch was followed by play acting. lets see if uefa do anythin about the ref harrasment. doubt an english club would get away with it

a disgrace the whole thing apart from messi
