Wow..........the arrogance of fans of supposed top teams never ceases to amaze me.
He may be playing for West Ham and therefore trying to stave off relegation, so his team certainly ain't challenging for titles............but by that definition, no Arsenal players should be in the running as they're uniquely qualified in the area of not seriously challenging for trophies.
Thankfully the requirement here is to excel in personal performance, of which Scott Parker is right up there this season and is a more than deserving winner.

Truly it beggars belief.
. Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.
Someone like Scotty Parker might well have helped add a bit of mental toughness to Arsenal (much like ourselves pre Kenny). He's had a brilliant season, the fact he doesn't play for a top 4 side is irrelevant in fact almost makes him more deserving of the award!

The thing is that my main complaint with Parker is, a bit like Gerrard, he often appears to operate in a vacuum where his performances don't help others to excel. He's been outstanding on an individual level but I don't think anyone should expect him to inject mental qualities into any team.
