can't see salary caps working.......as they will just offer huge signing on fees eg £40million singing on fee and £20k a week wages as per salary capOriginally posted by Gaz View PostI wonder when talk of a Salary Cap will return if this move for Eto'o comes off?
€417k a week is just ludicrous

Your right they haven't, I don't think Young will add anything they didn't already have and Jones is more for the future to replace Ferdinand. On paper there team is average but credit to them they seem to make it work and was impressed with some of there play in the attacking 3rd in Community Shield. There very light in the CM dept and not only will still destroy them with out without Sneijder I see a few of the better teams destroying there midfield. City showed what can happen when you get space in midfield, and I think you will see alot of teams shooting from long range against De Gea as its an obvious weakness at this point. I see sneijder as more of a luxury for them rather than necessity.Originally posted by RedReet View Post
I really don't understand this obsession with United and how great they and all theire signings have been. They were one of the worst teams ever to win the PL last year IMO and although they may have bought well this summer, I just don't see how they've strengthened. I think CM as you mentioned could be a problem for them, they seem a bit light in that department.
Even with Sneijder, Barca would have absolutely no bother destroying them again.

I'm not surprised at all that their weakness was CM and keeper and that's what gives me hope.Originally posted by dww View PostQuick short one touch passing combined with a very fluid front 4 - tactically very much like their last really good team with Ronaldo and Tevez. The movement and interchange was a different class to anything I saw them produce last season.
The only two worries for them were that both Anderson and Carrick evacuated the space in front of the back four (allowing City to create and shoot from there) and De Gea compounding this by being poor with long shots.
I also agree with Red G that their defence could give them problems as there is potential for a lot of chopping and changing and a lot of young players involved.
I can fully understand why United are favourites for the title, but I also think they are far from the unstoppable force some would have you beleive. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

It's like the difference between winning your national lottery and Euromillions. Winning Euromillions is like winning **** all, it's so much money. In fact it's like losing everything. But in a good way. That you didn't want.

Agreed mate, even last year they had a whole lot of luck go there way. While they did play well at the CS, I dont see them improving much on performances last year.

True but this year they seem to be a completely different team oozing with confidence.Originally posted by davegrady1 View PostAgreed mate, even last year they had a whole lot of luck go there way. While they did play well at the CS, I dont see them improving much on performances last year.
They looked very impressive during the pre-season and if they get Sneijder, they will be extremely difficult to stop.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club
