very good player indeed - not sure we'll see him with us though, the sort of money he'd cost I think he'd need to be a couple of years younger for us to take him.

Don't see the problem with signing a 27 year old tbh(not specifically referring to Sneijder)
      - 27 is still relatively young is it not?

Nothing wrong with signing a 27 year old I just can't see us spending £25M + on a 27 year old.

If he was say 23-24 then I could see being interested.

I totally agree with the philosophy of buying young players with a lot of potential, but occasionally if a very, very good player comes along in the peak of his career I think you have to go for it.

Sneijder for 20-25 million would be a brilliant buy. Absolutely brilliant.

            100% agree.

All well and good buying young players but should top quality more experienced ones become available then it would be foolish not to be interested.

I'd agree with both of you - I still very much doubt we'll be in for him and I think the money he'd cost with the squad we currently have could be spent better in other areas.

That's what Chelsea thought with Torres.
                  Oh I don't know.

Difference is that power and pace are huge parts of Torres' game, and both deteriorate with age. Given his history with injury it seems crazy now that Chelsea couldn't see that his best days are behind him. Still class, but not as good as he was a couple of years ago.

By contrast, Sneijder's game is based on intelligent use of the ball. Touch, passing, technique, getting into good positions, set piece delivery. He could easily have another 4-5 years at the top of his game.

Of course, you can never guarantee that a player will adapt. Veron looked custom made for the Premiership, so who knows! Would be a very expensive mistake if he didn't hit it off. And his injury record isn't great either.

He is also a very lazy player. If you have him in the team then you must have other players doing the dirty work for him.

Yep, Sneijder's a very lazy player indeed. Watched a lot of Inter games this season.

You can possibly get away with it in Italy and to a lesser extent in Spain but in England when the games are played at such a pace, you'll get found out.

I wouldn't be all that worried if he went to the scum.

Laziness never hampered Le Tissier much

He's an odd one though. If he could have been ****ing bothered, he could have been one of the greats.

                              Looks like this is happening.

Might stick a ton on them to win the league at 7/4

They have the firepower to win the league without Sneijder.

Sneijder is to help them overcome Barca and win the champions league. It has shades of Veron transfer.
