Re the Gerrard one - your player made exactly the same challenge just seconds before Gerrard and it wasnt even a foul. Yet Gerrard's is a 'nailed on red'. Funny that.Originally posted by Scotsdave View Post[Sarcasm]Sure it wasn't 19 times you heard Utd don't like Liverpool?[/sarcasm]
If you want to do the research to support your points by all means be my guest. I'll happily review the last 5 years of penalties awarded to Utd and give you an honest opinion of them.
Re: Mascherano vs Valencia - again, dig out the video I'd be happy to for my take on it - I half remember the incident - there was definitely a foul outside the box, but I can't remember if the 'foul' continued into the box....
Re: Berbatov and Agger - Agger sold himself totally, made contact, so Berbatov went down - really that shocking? On the soft side but if you try to tell me that Agger did no wrong you're deluding yourself.
Re: Gerrard's red. Nailed on red, no question. I remember seeing the Rafael tackle you're talking about and thinking at the time "Thank **** Agent Webb is on the case here."
Look what you did Charlie. You made me WUM.
As for the Berbatov/Agger one and the Mascherano/Valencia one - had the roles been reversed, you'd have been fuming at having a peno given against you for those. And you know it too.

So apart from allowing Berbatov to get away from him, then control the ball, then face the goal, and get past him to the byline, AND have a go at the ball and miss - I suppose Agger was utterly blameless? Berbatov went down as soon as he could but if you can't agree that errors were made by Agger, there's really no point discussing it further.Originally posted by Shaggy View Post

None of that matters, what matters is Agger didn't foul the diving cunt.Originally posted by Scotsdave View PostSo apart from allowing Berbatov to get away from him, then control the ball, then face the goal, and get past him to the byline, AND have a go at the ball and miss - I suppose Agger was utterly blameless? If you kick me, in the first seconds of a massive Fa Cup match, in the box, I'm going down.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostNone of that matters, what matters is Agger didn't foul the diving cunt.
It was soft, I'll give you that - but the poor defending is what caused it - footballer goes down easy to win a penalty - stop the back page!
And I'm sure I need not remind you that every club has their share of people who will take a tumble when it suits.

There was no foul whatsoever.
And i'm sure you'd be this reasonable if it was you who'd conceded a penalty for nothing.

Whether he "sold himself" or not is completely irrelevant. Berbatov dived, he voluntarily fell over. Threw himself to the floor after no contact. Cheated. If you can't see that there's no helping you.Originally posted by Scotsdave View PostSo apart from allowing Berbatov to get away from him, then control the ball, then face the goal, and get past him to the byline, AND have a go at the ball and miss - I suppose Agger was utterly blameless?
