Some people just need to face the fact that our management might have different ideas as to what we need and what players best suit us and the direction we want the team to take.

Obviously everyone is entitled to their opinion, rating Mata over Downing for example, but it's a bit futile constantly moaning about it, and claiming it is making us a laughing stock. In the aforementioned example, we have gone for a 27 year old premier league player who has been in and out of the international set-up over the past 6 years, over a 23 year old proven La Liga and international player who has been part of 2 World Cup winning squads in the last year - hardly an outrageous decision in my opinion.

I agree. It makes complete sense.

And in terms of making us a laughing stock, of course I exaggerated for effect, but are you telling me that signing Carroll, Henderson and Downing for a combined fee of around £75m is going to send shivers down the spines of our rivals? No it isn't. IMO of course.

Still, all said and done in Kenny I have to trust. Doesn't mean I cannot have a moan about it on a friggin footy forum though does it?

Sending shivers down other teams spine isn't why we sign players. And sometimes being under the radar is a good thing. Suprising a few teams will do us a lot of good, we don't people to be able to predict us easily.
