The mid table teams are improving and closing the gap. Our signings so far are no different in proven quality, arguably less so than the likes of Norwich. Obviously we still have superior squads, yet a season or two more and it would get close.

Laugh away. But the likes of aspas and Alberto are no better than what Swansea have signed. There's only so long you can keep shopping in the same markets as the likes of Swansea and Norwich and pulling a coutinho out of the hat. This isn't a critism in the slightest at rodgers or the owners. Just saying it like it is. Luckily we already have the likes of Gerrard who are top class. But forward on a couple of seasons of no cl, Gerrard coming to the end and who are the superstars or top drawer players? Unless our youngsters are going to be top players, your signings are what take you forward. In my mind Rodgers and this whole 'project'
has to work out otherwise we could fall away further still and may never in our lifetimes come back. Dramatic yes. Reality? Probable? Only time will tell.
