Fellaini is just about the best midfielder in the Premier League right now, so when he is back fit and firing, it will offer a massive boost, and if Mikel Arteta is anywhere near top form, Everton have a midfield to rival any club….and a defence to match.
They also have a fine keeper in Tim Howard and Phil Neville is undoubtedly the best leader in the division. Up front though, is still an area of worry, and it is here that Everton’s season could be decided.

Seems that way.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostPart of Wengers philosophy?
He's spending a fortune on a young winger again, that he has in abundance, but neglects to address the priorities such as a goalkeeper, LB and CB, which if it stays like this is a good thing for us

It's not surprising if they do get on his back they've had the same problems for the last few years and he's done nothing to solve them despite having no shortage of moneyOriginally posted by rcasemore View Postnot one Arsenal supporter I know is happy with this, they've all been talking about needing proven defenders coming in and not more "potential" young signings.
If Arsenal don't start strongly the fans will be on Wengers back pretty damn quickly. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

My suspicion is that he feels most defenders aren't of the sort he wants - i.e. good on the ball as well. Which means he has to develop players from a young age and it appears that he and his coaching staff are less good at doing that than they are working on passing/attacking play. Perhaps always playing in that style is just a bad way to be educated as a defender? I would also suggest that his 'eye' for pure defenders isn't as good as it is for more creative types.Originally posted by Exiled_red View Post

It's a shame he doesn't take a punt on one of the most 'straightforward' english prospects as he transformed the likes of Adams when he inherited them as strong defenders but less technically developed players."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

3 millionOriginally posted by Mostar View PostI read it yesterday apparently transfer fee is for £3m.
It's ridiculous how they are getting some good money for their dross and we are struggling to off load ours for free..
The power that Ferguson holds over LMA is unreal. It appears almost all the managers bend over backwards to please him. They have been consistently getting 3 to 7 million for their ****e players. If the Mancs had signed Poulsen last year, Bruce would have come in with a 8 million bid by now.
