I still dont think they will ever ban a big club which has a massive tv audience worldwide, they just wouldnt have the balls to deal with the reaper cushions from broadcasters.

Chelsea and City though, no problem.

I'll start believing UEFA are serious when they announce their judgement of the £400m City sponsorship deal.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Platini wants the FIFA job - he needs to be seen as able to pull this one off, so I can see him following through on this one.

                    I don't.

City is too rich and powerful now and if UEFA decides to act, it will be some poor club in Romania, Poland, Ukraine etc that will pay the price and serve as a scapegoat.

                    Not City.

I think it's not just about Platini's personal career ambitions but that there is a massive power struggle currently going on behind the scenes between different clubs within the European Clubs Association, and between the ECA, UEFA and FIFA. All we're seeing with comments about FFP and the international calendar is the tip of the iceberg or, to mix metaphors, a few warning shots and tactical manoeuvres.

There's bound to be some sort of fudge on FFP because both UEFA and FIFA need the clubs, especially when they're battling against each other, but not all the clubs in the ECA have a commonality of interest on the issue.
                          .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.
