I'm sure that none of their players are paying anything like the 40% tax that would apply to PAYE earnings.

If it's not self-employed subcontractors of off-shore holding companies with image rights held by Lichensteini Limited Companies etc it'll be along those lines. Especially the foreigners!

Ok he would have cost about £15m but look at what happened to the scum when they took a chance on an unkown called Ronaldo for £12m.

Its a shame as I think he would be great for us but that ship has long sailed now.
Well it is good to know you know the intracasies of our transfer dealings.

is it? cause they just announced a 400 million quid deal recently so that takes care of that. I know a lot of clubs have complained about it but it wouldn't shock me if UEFA pass the buck to the FA who do their usual "investigation" before finding nothing wrong with it.

          Breaking news:
Sky Sports sources understand Manchester City are to enter formal negotiations with Atletico Madrid over Sergio Aguero.

BBC NW says that deal for Tevez to move to Brazil has failed to get sorted in time for their deadline. Seems he has to stay till January.

If City buy Aguero without first getting rid of Tevez it would seem they have not intent of even appearing to be constrained by FFP rules.

Sid Lowe on talkSPORT (****e station, very good journalist) has said that Aguero, Atheltico may be talking to Citeh in order to force Madrids hand.

Madrid are apparently keen and they are Aguero's preferred choice but they don't want to pay his full release clause. With Citeh on the scene they may have no choice if they really want him.

                  Its well known.

Just like Tommo and Ged deliberating on whether to buy Ronaldo and we bulked at something like £5m. While they were discussing it in a hotel it broke that Utd has signed him for £12m

simple research and knowledge is power! :bird:

Slightly different circumstances comparing us trying to sign Kun and the scum buying Ronaldo. They could probably afford for him to flop, at that point we rarely had 15m to spend on an experienced player nevermind a small south american teenager.
                      In Klopp we trust.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

£15m on a 17 year old Aguero, or £12m on an 18 year old Ronaldo both look sensible purchases with hindsight. At the time they were both expensive gambles - neither of which we could afford to be making at the time.

United could afford to make these sorts of gambles. Take the £7m they paid for Zoran Tosic for example, or the £7m on Bebe, both of which now look ridiculous.

Amazing what a difference hindsight makes...

The thing is that they are not a joke at all and will be taken seriously as they will eventually succeed.Throw enough money at anything and more likely than not, you will achieve what you set out to.They have already won their first trophy in 30 odd years and are in the Champions League.

They will only get stronger unfortunatley.

Should have been us... I know I know, before everyone starts about buying the league etc etc, but I still wish it was us.
