If he's going to Juve, the same questions can be asked of them.Originally posted by kubrickscube View PostOh come off it. Can we just get past the whole "he may just sign" nonsense. Why, exactly would he sign?
What exactly can we offer that other's can't match?
He's clearly going to go for around £30m+ and even if we could shell that out again, (which is doubtful) he will be surely on wages only the likes of Chelsea/R.Madrid/Barcelona/Man City could afford.

I somehow think that's the key to it also. I think Henry wants rid of the deadwood first before we stump up the serious cash on players. Let's pray we can do that sooner rather than later.Originally posted by Nick77 View PostI think we could afford to pay him 140k per week IF we can get rid of the likes of Cole & Jovanovic...

We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

Doesnt England have a higher tax rate than Italy and Spain for footballers. We may have to pay him higher in order to match the offers from Italy and Spain.Originally posted by Nick77 View PostI think we could afford to pay him 140k per week IF we can get rid of the likes of Cole & Jovanovic...

Spain "Beckham Law" tax rate for foreign players is around 24% but in Italy the tax rate is around 43% so it is not much lower than the tax rate paid in England.Originally posted by peekay View PostDoesnt England have a higher tax rate than Italy and Spain for footballers. If it is true that Juve would offer him €7.5m per year on the 5-year contract we would need to offer him around £148k per week to match their offer including tax differences between 2 countries.

The devaluation of sterling vs the euro will have impacted salaries. The so called Beckham Law is a bit of a red herring. Rates largely the same.Originally posted by Mostar View PostSpain "Beckham Law" tax rate for foreign players is around 24% but in Italy the tax rate is around 43% so it is not much lower than the tax rate paid in England.

But they come to live and spend most of their money in Britain, so it won't have that much of an impact.Originally posted by JHP View PostThe devaluation of sterling vs the euro will have impacted salaries. Are you sure? I think that's unlikely.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostBut they come to live and spend most if their money in Britain, so it won't have that much of an impact..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
