I think he'll flop.

It's far from a given that he'll tear the Prem to bits. I've seen a lot of him and there's no doubting he's a great player but I really don't think he's the talent some make him out to be. He drifts in and out far to much for my liking. Some games he's been totally anonymous, something I'd struggle to say about Messi, Ronaldo and even Suarez. We shall see. Massive gamble though.

It's not a gamble for City considering they have endless amounts of money, its just a different player. If they don't like him plenty of others clubs will beg to buy him off them..

How have City even got a hope of being within the financial fair play rules? If he is on £240k a week, that's ~£12m a year in wages alone, they have a few other players reportedly on similar wages. Their wage bill must be insane, add to that all the transfer fees and the fact they have relatively small turnover... surely this can't continue?

Most of those were bought before the first accounting period relevant to FFP.

They have also already written down/amortized a chunk of the book value of those assets, so when sold in the future, on paper it will go down as a large profit for the financial year (which is now inside the accounting period for FFP). In addition wages for contracts started before a certain date are not included. this will help them out over the first few years of FFP.
