Henderson isn't getting any help from Mancienne though.

Mancienne is distinctly average, surely we have better than him coming through apart from Wiltshere.

Nope. And to be fair, as we've dropped deeper and deeper in to our own half, we're bypassing our midfield anyway.

when youre a £16m midfield player theres nowhere to hide. martinez on the other hand is running the show.
He's the only one looking like he isnt scared of the ball to be fair. Bit hard to beat 11 players on your own, no movement or quality from the rest.

danny rose looks like another overhyped overpaid young english footballer. physically strong but nothing up top.

i agree chris in that when he's got it he looks good. but he's got to demand the ball off manciienne and the back four. martinez gets pretty much every ball he shows for and i think henderson has to do the same.

agree with that but also depends on the tactics we've been put out with, for me so far we've looked tactically inept certainly compared to the Spanish.

Kyle Walker has done well down the right. I remember seeing him and Naughton St Sheffield Utd, they were both exciting to watch, but it seems Walker has pushed on more.

Rose has indeed been awful. Martinez the star man of the first half.

From the handful of touches Henderson (and England) have had, I've been impressed with his quick reading of the game and his ability to see a pass and make it, whether it's first time or after he gets hold of the ball. My only concern is that he lacks a bit of bite for central midfield and us happy to drop off, rather than push on.

Agree with all of that. Where does Martinez play? Sign him up!

england are ****ting themselves so they are dropping deep which means the midfielders drop deeper and concede ground to spain.

martinez is quality and its obvious to see, thiago alcantara doesnt look like a central midfield player to me. it appears as if he's being put there to accomodate others but england need to push up and get tighter with the spanish midfield two.
