I will try to explain it to you ... Unlike most English club, the Italian clubs have competent Directors of Football with a transfer strategy and a good sense of business ...Originally posted by Maxiedge View PostYes, it's very difficult
Juventus have not refused to sign Aquilani last summer ... They have signed Pirlo on the free, but have also made a €9 million bid for Aquilani ... Once we refused to sell Aquilani at that price, since it was considerably lower than the prearranged price of €15 million, they have signed Arturo Vidal from Bayer 04 Leverkusen for €12.5 million and covered their central midfield with quality options ...
It is the same with AC Milan ... They are not refusing to sign Aquilani ... They have already signed Montolivo on the free, and have declined to exercise their €6 million option on Aquilani ... However, here is what Galliani has said on the issue: "We will not use our option to buy Aquilani before May 31 ... We will reopen talks with Liverpool in June, though" ... Are you getting it now?Last edited by Macedonian_Red; 31-05-12, 02:48 PM.

They want to drive the price down from 6 million euros. They are taking the absolute piss, and we shouldn't budge an inch on the price. If they don't meet it, bring him back. I actually think he'd fit very well into Rodgers style of football, as someone who is composed and a very good passer of the ball.
It's time we stop being total pussies in the transfer market.K ris90210

I have a feeling this guy will prosper under Buck if we bring him back. Plus I really want to see Aquilani playing in a Liverpool shirt again, mainly because he apparently looks like me. I am the Pakistani Aquilani - call me Paquilani. Actually don't - that's slightly racistMy kebab comes with chilli sauce

For the 39-year-old manager there is a promise of a fresh start for all members of the Liverpool squad, including those who spent last season on loan.
That offers a glimmer of hope for outcasts such as Joe Cole and Alberto Aquilani, two of Liverpool’s biggest earners who have failed to ignite their careers at Anfield.
When he takes his first training sessions at Melwood on July 11, Rodgers will discover a skeleton squad given most of the club’s established players will have extra time off due to Euro 2012 and the Olympics.
Cole and Aquilani are likely to be among the early starters. Cole has stated his desire for a fresh start at Anfield, while Aquilani says he will talk to Rodgers to determine his immediate future.
“I need to understand whether there are conditions for an agreement that satisfies everyone,” said Aquilani. “We will meet in order to understand their plans. Only then will I be able to make the right decision.
“It is important that I have the opportunity to make a contribution, to be able to play well and play regularly.”
Liverpool had an agreement to sell Aquilani for £6 million if he started 25 games in Serie A last season, but the Italian narrowly missed the target.
Since then, Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has been trying to reduce the fee, but Rodgers will want to see the 27 year-old in action before sanctioning any cut-price moves.
