Per se, I don't want Rodgers missing out on a player because of a range of £5million. However, if Rodgers gets that one player but future players screw us over as we've become a soft touch then the damage is longer term.

So my follow up question would be: would you prefer Rodgers gets the player he's after for the Aquilani saving and see agents and players only do convuluted Aquilani type deals with us going forwards?

Or would you take the hit on that one player to safeguard future tradings?

It doesnt work like that though

Your actions on one deal dont necessarily dictate your actions or behaviour on another deal

For instance lets just say I have a product I need to sell in order to keep my cash flow going. I might be prepared to sell that product slightly below market value just to get the money in and keep the cash flow going. The same buyer might come in asking for more of the product but the necessity to do a deal below market value has gone so there is no need to discount the market

Selling below market value or buying above market value in isolated trades today has little or no bearing on future trades

Each deal is dealt with individually on its specific merits and benefits to the company

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Its not just as straight forward as that though - there is also an impact in allowing clubs, players and agents to completely rip the piss when dealing with us.

Lets keep him. Each week on that lfc documentary he could be given a new job. So one week he's the cleaner, the next he's in the ticket office and another being a steward. He'd be brilliant.

A line from today's Corriere dello Sport:

The Brazilian (Thiago Siva) remains and may also include other Central. Galliani: "Proposed renewal." Two shots in the barrel: Acerbi is frozen. Aquilani is free and signing. Robinho is the Malaga. Maxi Lopez is waiting.

                        EDIT: I just checked.

                        To clarify:

"Aquilani si libera" does translate as "Aquilani is free" but it simply means he's available, not engaged in employment, free to sign, not there would be no fee.

Although I suppose that might come to pass as well.

Is it though, i mean if clubs thought they could get away with such tactics we'd all be doing it,..club says... 'hey lend me this player and i'll buy him next season, you pay his big wages or some of them'.....LFC say...'you have a deal', then just don't buy said player and ask for another loan till eventually his contract runs down and you get him for nothing. Thing is...most clubs would say..Fu** Off!
