Alberto Aquilani's agent has claimed that the Liverpool playmaker will decide his future this week.
The midfielder has two years remaining on his current contract at Anfield but has spent the previous two seasons on loan in his native Italy, with Juventus and AC Milan respectively.
Aquilani's performances for Milan had suggested that he would secure a permament move to the San Siro this summer, three years after his £20million move to Anfield from boyhood club Roma.
Franco Zavaglia, who represents the 27-year-old, expects his client's situation to become clear in the coming days but has dismissed reports in Italy that Aquilani would buy out his Reds contract.
"We had a meeting with English executives but for the time being, nothing has emerged," Zavaglia told ilsussidiario.net.
"We expect a response from Liverpool which should arrive within the week."
He added: "There is absolutely no possibility that Aquilani can become a free agent in order to then decide what to do.
"I don't know if he wants to stay at Milan, we shall see. We just have to wait and see what happens and what Liverpool decides."

Paolo Bandini @Paolo_Bandini
Corriere dello Sport report Alberto Aquilani has had his contract at #lfc terminated. They expect him to sign as free agent for #AcMilan

Remarkably, Corriere dello Sport report would have it that Aquilani is hoping to get €4m pay-off - as would be big wages saving for #lfc

I don't think anyone with a shred of common decency would begrudge him getting an extra €4m..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Because we are Liverpool FC. Thats how we roll.Originally posted by RedReet View PostWhy in God's name would we do that? Surely there is some club in the world that would take him, even for a nominal fee with him having to put in a transfer request?

I'm not sure he didOriginally posted by Chris View PostHis agent has already rubbished that.
I think he dismissed the possibility of buying out his contract
This imo is what they have been angling for, us giving him away for nowt with a juicy fat pay offBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

He only wants to go back to Italy though so he'd just reject all the other approachesOriginally posted by RedReet View PostWhy in God's name would we do that? Surely there is some club in the world that would take him, even for a nominal fee with him having to put in a transfer request?
Crazy
Short of forcing him to come back here and see out his contract whilst paying him £4-5 million per annum its hard to see where we could go
The situation really pisses me off and I hate the way it looks like hes acted but it might just be worthwhile letting him go and saving whatever we can out of this
I'd be pleased to get his wages off the books franklyBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Hear hear. His commitment to providing our physio with constant work in his time here and for incurring minimal wear and tear on our pitch whilst out on loan is commendable.Originally posted by Neil Young View PostI don't think anyone with a shred of common decency would begrudge him getting an extra €4m.
