I don't think that is true is it? I thought he was out for a month or so?Originally posted by dom9 View PostIf he is that good, then we should expect a queue of clubs in for him this summer. Disastrous signing.

He is on high wages so interest from debt ridden clubs in Serie A cannot be high.Originally posted by dom9 View PostIf he is that good, then we should expect a queue of clubs in for him this summer. Milan got Montolivo for free (just like Juve got Pirlo last year) and there is no reason for them to spend any money to cover a transfer fee for similar type of a player.
He is not in Italian squad as he has slight injury towards the end of the season and wasn't featured regularly since then which ****ed up his chances of making to Euro '12.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

I actually blame Aquilani and his family for not getting the proper chanceOriginally posted by Mostar View Postas he was never given a proper chance to prove himself.
His missus was only over here a couple of months before returning to Italy, they never gave the City a chance
Hes never wanted to come back permanently
Hes always angled for a move back to Italy be it on loan
IMO Comolli only made the professional comments in the hope of enticing a buyer and not to lose further on the player (which was inevitable imo)
We've had 2 successive managers who have not played him and shipped him back to Italy and now we have a new manager who expresses admiration for him but suggests there is homesickness behind the reasons for him not being hereBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

reasons highlighted for youOriginally posted by Mostar View PostI don't get all this negativity and "Flop" "****ty Signing" name calling for Aquilani.
He was the victim of unrealistic fans expectations as he was seen by many as Alonso's replacement (completely different player to begin with) and poorly managed since he recovered from injury.
Had only 12 starts in PL and scored 1 goal and had 6 assists which is miles and miles better than what Hendo and Adam produced last year given their number of starts.
He came injured just like Carroll and he cost less than Carroll but we all saw what Carroll did when he was finally given a string of games to play which cannot be said about Aquilani.
He should have stayed and should have never been loaned in the first place as he has more creativity and ability than more of our midfield.
Some say he is home sick and there is no doubt he is now but he also is a true professional as Comolli and others said many times who if he is given a chance to play imo would embrace that challenge.
I'd love to see Rodgers keeping him for a year and play him regularly as I think he'd fit his style of play very nicely.
Sadly I cannot see him staying but I don't think it is justified to label him negatively as many did as he was never given a proper chance to prove himself.
Give him a year let him have 25+ starts and they judge him.

Can't be remotely bothered to look but I'm fairly certain I predicted this exact outcome about 3 or 4 weeks ago.Originally posted by Lecter View PostAquilani will ask Liverpool to release him so that he can join Milan. ...which will have to do
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

You have to work pretty hard to make Downing look an astute signing but somehow Aquilani manages it.
A great big stonking, stinking mess.A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.
