If he had any sense of pride he would be trying to negotiate a sensible transfer to an Italian team, if he's happy for Italian teams to try to **** us over then bollocks to him.

Alberto Aquilani's future will be decided by new Liverpool FC manager Brendan Rodgers, the player’s agent has said.

Liverpool FC midfielder Alberto Aquilani, who is under contract with the Premier League side until June 2014, played on loan at AC Milan this season after failing to impress at Anfield.

"The new Liverpool coach will decide Alberto’s fate," Aquilani’s agent Franco Zavaglia said to an Italian radio station.

"We will have to wait and see what he thinks about the player and whether Alberto will be of any use to the Reds.

"Alberto has a contract at Liverpool for another two years and they will let us know about their intentions soon.

"He would be happy to stay at Liverpool if he was given the right opportunities."

The 27-year-old Alberto Aquilani moved to Liverpool FC in 2009 in a £20 million transfer deal from Roma.

He endured a disappointing spell at Anfield before being loaned to Juventus in the 2010/11 campaign.

Juve opted not to exercise the option to acquire Aquilani’s sporting rights for a reported eight million euros last summer and the player joined AC Milan on a one-year loan deal instead.

Reports in Italy claimed Milan were keen to acquire Aquilani on a permanent transfer provided the player would terminate his contract with Liverpool FC.

However, his agent has denied those rumours.

"If Milan had wanted to sign him then they should have made their move sooner," Zavaglia said.

Alberto Aquilani scored one goal in 23 league appearances for the Rossoneri last season.

His agent is trying to spin the line that we forced him out. You have to admire it.

Also, to stay somewhere, would imply actually being there some of the time.

Don't get the bit where his agent denied 'those rumours'. Where?

I presume by "opportunities" he's referring to the opportunity to go back out on loan to Italy

Would there be space for him and the Icelandic bloke in the same team?

They play similar roles don't they?

Seems an awful lot of midfielders who prefer to play through the middle.

I hope we sell Adam, Cole and Spearing (Get a replacement DM for Lucas) and possibly loan out Shelvey. We would then have a backup midfielder for Rogers 4-3-3.

f we are signing sigurdsson then I cant see how we can accomodate aquilani. really if anyone should be playing off the central striker its stevie.

I'd love to see Aqua back at us. Say it at the end of every season pretty much. He should have been given more time with us. He could easily establish himself on at least a rotational basis.

He's the one player that could be B-Rod's next Leon Britton. I remember from B-Rod's MOTD3 comments that Britton was struggling at other clubs but at Swansea he was compared to Xavi. Aquilani is more talented than Britton.

Alberto Aquilani is set to return to Liverpool FC with the Italian midfielder having received no offers from other clubs, according to his agent.

Aquilani, who played on loan at AC Milan this season, is under contract with Liverpool FC until June 2014. Reports in Italy claimed Aquilani would terminate his contract with Liverpool FC in order to make his move to Milan permanent this summer, something with his agent has vehemently denied.

"Almost certainly he will not terminate his contract with Liverpool," Aquilani's agent Franco Zavaglia said.

"He could join them (Liverpool) at the beginning of July to start pre-season training with the English club.

"At this time there are no clubs interested in him."

Alberto Aquilani moved to Anfield in 2009 in a £20 million transfer deal from Roma.
