Just get the prick back, make him a bench warmer for the reserves cos where in a no win situation the way the slimey agent has worked this to there advantage.
This has been a stain on our club all this messing about , so just let him rot then he might just **** back off to Italy with ****all in his pocket if he hated it do much then take a hit on any compensation then we will all be happy and this fkn thread can be buried.

Otherwise we make him sit out his contract and stay in England - we need to make a statement that we won't be dicked about by any player, agent or club.
Been saying the same for ages mate. Time to make a stand.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

The problem is if you believe the reports we are going to release him on a free but Aquilani still wants compensation that he would be due according to his contractOriginally posted by Lee View PostThe best (most sensible) thing to do would be just to release him and scrap these poxy pay-offs and compensation.
He ****ed up by signing for us, we ****ed up by signing him. It's been a massive **** up by all parties, let's just chalk it down to experience and have us all move on. We save £5m per year in wages and he can get himself a big fat signing-on fee somewhere.
Shame because as I player - from the 20 or 30 times I've seen him play - I think he's good. But LFC & Aquilani aren't meant to be so the sensible thing to do is just chalk it off and both move on.Bob Paisley - "This club has been my life. The sentiments of this are fine until you look at what impact keeping him and paying him £4-5 million per annum would have on Brendan Rodgers team plansOriginally posted by rudedog View PostIts simple really - if he wants to go back to Italy then both him and club agree to terminate his contract with no payoff.

I've been thinking that for a few days. Lector's got a point that we're not Man City who have a 5 million to throw away. But the deal is so rotten that it makes us look like an Aston Villa. I'd rather we made a 'big club' statement on this issue (i.e. rot in the reserves you rat) than a 'small helpless club'.
Saving this 5 million now might cost us a small fortune in the future in terms of restoring our brand. One tit for another.

A better question to ask would be thisOriginally posted by BigChief View Post

Would you pay off Aquilani if it meant Rodgers getting another player he really wanted
Or would you keep that Aquilani to make a "statement" and thereby preventing Rodgers from getting that playerBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
