He wouldn't, they'd probably be no way near him, and he doesn't have enough to get through a deep defence imo.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostIf he constantly hit crosses, Carroll would have a field day.
He'd be useful counter attacking, but quite frankly he isn't good enough to be a worthwhile threat against teams that would have us under a pressure.

Players like Lennon are ideal flat-track bullies and we have none of those.

I can't agree mate, the only time I can envision him being useful is when there is a lot of space to run into behind. He is too one dimensional and limited to be a worthwhile player.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostSo that's what, 4 out of 19?

I just think an injection of electric pace, especially in the latter third of a game, where opponents are trying to park the bus but tiring, could force mistakes and lead to chances.Originally posted by Mattshark View PostI can't agree mate, the only time I can envision him being useful is when there is a lot of space to run into behind. And as i say, i think he's the type of player who could absolutely ruin the weaker opponents. Bottom half sides are often **** enough whereby even just pace can undo them. And given that we dont have it, Lennon would come in far more handy to us than Aquilani IMO.

He's got you there Aj.
Lennon is a bit too 1 dimensional he's got speed which we do need but not much else, his crossing is meh and doubt he'd fit into the pass and move system he could do a job coming off the bench but I also think AA could be just as effective (obviously in a different position though).

For me he's far too inconsistent, he can look great in one game and then go missing in the next two to the extent you don't even notice he's playing. For me he doesn't have enough good games to cancel out the bad ones. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Why not give Sterling a chance instead? He is probably even quicker than Lennon and have a better game intelligence.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI just think an injection of electric pace, especially in the latter third of a game, where opponents are trying to park the bus but tiring, could force mistakes and lead to chances.

I just don't think pace is what is needed against a parked bus, I think guile and technique have far more value.

You need a quick passing game to create chances against teams that park the bus. You need players that can turn very quickly and have quick acceleration.
What would Lennon offer us that Sterling can't?Stop the cyberhate
