I thought he had a pretty decent game for a player that hasn't played for us for more than a year. Good passing and game awareness. Didn't link up with Kuyt few times towards the end of the game but all in all it was a good 45 minutes. I hope he stays and to me he gives us more options than Meireles.

Given the lack of prospective takers potentially we may well find ourselves with aqua for next season although, I kinda think with 33 games under his belt last season, come the final days of the window, when some injuries have already started to affect squads, I wouldn't be suprised to see someone take a last minute punt. If it's raul or aqua, I'd favour raul but despite recent statements to the contrary, if we crack on for a left back too, I think raul will leave as a guarenteed fundraiser and someone will gamble on aqua right at the death, seeing both depart which is managable as squad to heavy in midfield anyhow.
