Exactly what part of the English game is too quick or too physical for him?
I could find a highlight video of chris marsden or SWP against Liverpool both ripping us to shreds. Means nothing

Well, I haven't seen much of Chris Marsden, but I have definitely seen enough of Alberto Aquilani at Roma, LFC, Juventus, Milan and the Italian NT to know that this is regular level of performance ...

I watched the spurs game on lfc tv last week and it certainly wasn't nonsense.

No way anyone has enough time to watch enough Italian football to see if a player is consistent enough. I have enough trouble watching Liverpool.

maybe he looks good in italy, but its not as intense and rough as over here. if he was committed to coming back then lets give him a whirl, but cannot be allowed back unless he is fully committed. cba with lazy namby pamby poofters in a red shirt.

Most Juventus and AC Milan games are being played on the Saturday and Sunday evening (20:45 CET), due to broadcasting reasons ... Therefore, it is very easy to watch both LFC and Serie A, if you are really interested ... The only problem is that the high profile Serie A games usually collide with the high profile games of La Liga ...

Wasn't it Benitez who spilt the beans on Aquilani eventually saying that he gets really nervous before games? Panic attacks?

Anyway somethings not right as he's a very good player who should be playng regularly, somewhere.

You've got to love internet myths and how they develop over the years ...

Here is what Rafa has really said:

"He was complaining of pain in his ankle and said he couldn't train," the Liverpool manager said. "We will have to talk with the doctors to see what's going on because at the moment we don't know."

There are concerns that the Italian, ear-marked as the natural replacement for Xabi Alonso in a season that opened amid high expectation at Anfield, will be absent for the rest of this campaign should he undergo exploratory surgery. But Benítez said: "We don't know if he needs an operation. He has some pain and we will just analyse that with the doctor. It's the same ankle he did before. Some players maybe can manage with the pain, some players when they have pain cannot. When you talk of pain you never know, it depends on each individual and that makes it really difficult."

Alberto was just fine after this statement, and had some very good performances until the end of the season ...

Wow I wasn't aware of that. With 44 players on the pitch, the risk of injury must be huge. UEFA need to rectify this ASAP

Well, the good thing is that both leagues are being played at a normal pace, unlike the English game where majority of the players are running around like headless chickens ...

I'd like to see him back for a season to see what he can do.

Plus I don't see we've got much to lose if the alternative is a loan deal that involves us picking up a huge chunk of his wages (again).

Well, it sounds to me like he was being a bit of a ponce...wasn't exactly throwing himself into contention. The myths on the right track.

He was recovering from a serious injury with a couple of operations and a serious bacterial infection ... I don't know if you have ever been a subject of a serious injury and subsequent surgical procedures (I certainly hope that you will never have such an experience), but the psychological recovery process from such procedures can be very tricky in most cases ... He has certainly left that injury behind him know, looking at his performances at Juventus and AC Milan ...

If his performances have been so good at Milan, why won't they sign him at the cut price? My initial point was that there's something quite not right about him. He's gone from club to club putting in decent perfromances but gets shipped out at every opportunity. Milan don't seem to want him on a bargain fee. Has to be something to do with his character off the pitch.

Because they have signed Riccardo Montolivo (a slightly superior player) on the free ... It was the same with Juventus, who have signed Andrea Pirlo on the free last summer ... Is that so difficult to understand?
