I don't know if you have ever been a subject of a serious injury and subsequent surgical procedures (I certainly hope that you will never have such an experience), but the psychological recovery process from such procedures can be very tricky in most cases ... If his performances have been so good at Milan, why won't they sign him at the cut price? My initial point was that there's something quite not right about him. He's gone from club to club putting in decent perfromances but gets shipped out at every opportunity. Milan don't seem to want him on a bargain fee.
