No he did'nt win it all, infact Chelsea have'nt yet won the trophy their owner most craves, their 'Holy Grail' so to speak.Originally posted by Norbert Dentressangle View PostDepends on how ambitious Clarke *really* is. He's won it all at Chelsea, now he's got the chance to prove himself again at Liverpool. A step back in to the shadows at Chelsea is not a progressive move IMO
I'd like to think he'd stay given the choice, but i would'nt be sure, but i agree winning the Prem with Liverpool would be bigger than winning the Champions league with the Chavs, but that's me....not sure about what Clarke would think though, or how close he feels to Chelsea as a club.Last edited by Vermilion; 20-06-11, 03:21 PM.

I'd like to see what all the hype is about.
I’ve nothing to base it on, but I think he’s gonna set his career back a few years by taking this job and will have to rebuild his reputation once he leaves. It's going to be hard for any team to take the CL off Barca and the PL is going to be very competitive next year.If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Can't see Clarke going back there, weren't they looking at getting Ray Wilkins to go back? AVB might want to bring in his own coaching staff / Backroom team anyway. We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

It's only 8 or 9 months since they sacked him
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It was supposed to be Hiddink who wanted him back from what I heard. My suspicion is that a lot of what we have heard has been ill-informed bull****.Originally posted by Exiled_red View Post

He was linked with pretty much every club under the sun (including us) and given his recent comments about no going anywhere for little while and Chavs heavily linked with Guus, it's surprising twist of events...Originally posted by Pepe79 View PostFrom nowhere? tbh he has all the potential in the world and I know a lot of us talked about wanting him here, me included but with only 1 season behind him albeit a very successful one it could well prove too much for him what with Abramovich's itchy trigger finger, fans expectation and massive, massive egos' to deal with.
Stranger things have happened in football management - see Graeme Souness when he took over at Rangers!

And consider the fact that he is probably younger than many of said egos as well, can well be a hindrance.

Im sure I read somewhere that Chelsea had already put the feelers out about a possible return only to be informed that he wasnt interested.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostNo he did'nt win it all, infact Chelsea have'nt yet won the trophy their owner most craves, their 'Holy Grail' so to speak.

He was joint favourite along with Hiddink when Ancelotti was sacked. How many of the other clubs were actually looking for a manager though? He's been linked heavily with Chelsea for at least the past month so its looked likely they would go for him, if not Hiddink. Despite any recent comments, this hasn't really come out of the blue at all.Originally posted by Mostar View PostHe was linked with pretty much every club under the sun (including us) and given his recent comments about no going anywhere for little while and Chavs heavily linked with Guus, it's surprising twist of events...
Will be very interesting to se how he gets on though

Yep, remember something about that very recently, had'nt heard that it had gone so far as him actually being asked yet, or that he ended up telling Chelsea the answer was no, so if true that's good news, all i remember was a rumour that they were thinking about trying to lure him back there.Originally posted by JudgeRed View PostIm sure I read somewhere that Chelsea had already put the feelers out about a possible return only to be informed that he wasnt interested.Last edited by Vermilion; 20-06-11, 08:42 PM.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
