Not everything 'expected' always happens - Rafa was 'expected' not to finish in lowly 7th place, but he did.

So Rafa was a failure then, yeah?

If you look at how much our squad cost and how much we paid out in wages then sixth or seventh was expected. If you then add all the off the pitch problems then suddenly seventh place isn't that bad. Rafa had to more or less take care of everything himself. No one else gave a ****. That of course meant less preparations for the games and so on but what choice did he have?

Either he did all the extra job himself or no one would do it.

We had sold some of our best players and not replaced them at all.

Do you think Mourinho would cope in a similar situation?

I think that he would walk away after a week. He isn't strong enough mentally to cope in the working situation Rafa had to cope with week in week out.

He would moan, moan, moan and then moan a bit more and then he would walk away.

It is a very big difference.

Maybe you should learn to look at the whole picture, that helps you know.

It is a fact that if you don't win the league or CL at Real for example then you are a failure. They sacked manager after manager because they didn't win the league or CL. They even sacked managers even that they won the league but didn't win the CL or played good enough football.

Winning and winning in style is what counts as success at Real. Nothing else. At Real second is really nothing.

I thought you were talking about him at Chelsea?

Where he won the league. More than once.

And apparently, according to the Arnonense you peddle, he was unsuccessful.

I never said that he was unsuccessful in the league at Chelsea. I said that he was unsuccessful in the CL at Chelsea

                Oh the irony....

You only said he was unsuccessful in the CL at chelsea, did you? I should 'learn to read' and 'stop twisting words', should i?

                Erm....

You are really great twisting words Craig . If you tried to read the whole posts and not take words out of context to suit your silly agenda then you would suddenly discover that he wasn't a success at Chelsea because he never even reached one single CL final.

They got him in to win the league AND the CL. Did he do his job at Chelsea then? Did he win the CL?

I think you know the answer yourself but you will probably again twist my words to suit your silly agenda.

He didn't even reach one single CL final at Chelsea. They got him in to win the CL and he didn't reach one single final. No success in Europe at Chelsea. He didn't do his job.

At Real you are expected to win the CL and if you don't even reach the final then you are not successful. If you don't win the league at Real then you are a failure. You are expected to win the league at Real. Coming second is far away from being successful.

At Inter he did an excellent job. He did what was expected from him in the league considering that they won the league several years in a row and the main competitors had been weakened thanks to the scandal in Italy and at the same time they splashed out big time. He did his job in the league, nothing more, nothing less.

He won the CL at Inter and that was a big success. That wasn't expected.

His biggest success is still when he won the CL at Porto and his long unbeaten home run that he had.

I never said that he isn't a very good manager but he isn't guaranteed success. He isn't even close to be the best manager in the world.

Can he build up a club from top to bottom? Who knows? He hasn't even tried that yet. He doesn't give a **** about Academies and own young talents.

Splash the cash big time EVERY season since he took over at Chelsea. That has been his trademark. We don't know how good he is building a club with say a £30m net a year transfer budget because he normally splash out much much more than that.
who is the best manager in the world then ? or give me your top 3

He has cherry picked his jobs but then if you've got yourself into the position to be able to do that wouldn't you? I bloody well would!

Sorry Arn but he's a brilliant manager his record speaks for himself, finances or no he's done the business he's been paid to do - he was bought in to Chelsea to win the league first and foremost and then to win the CL - he didn't do that and left partially due to his own arrogance and partly that of Abramovich who still hasn't got his hands on the title.

I don't like Mourinho simply for his behaviour and attitude but so far he's been a massive success at every club bar Real and he's got possibly the best club side ever to contend against there. (if you ask any Chelsea supporter who their best manager ever has been I bet 9 out of 10 say him!)

Tried not to laugh when I saw the score!

The top five managers in the World IMO. That means not only trophies won counts but also how they can take care of a club from top to bottom, from the Academy to the league team. How they act off the pitch etc. The whole picture.
