Probably more thought and accuracy in that post than most of the other **** you read about Insua on here. At least you actually have a point.

So statistically, he performed as well individually as other top left backs in the league, and collectively as part of a defensive unit he was part of the 3rd best defence in the league, despite playing for only the 7th best team. Good to see our defence was so much better off this year without him.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I still think Insua should get a chance here, he is still young, counts as homegrown, knows the PL and IMO a good left back. Makes more sense keeping him here than throwing 10m+ on another left back that can be doubted whether he is better.

I'd rather we keep Insua for the squad than Aurelio considering wages and injury history.

I was just looking at some more stats for the 09/10 season. From Christmas onwards, Insua made 14 PL starts and we kept 8 clean sheets only conceding 7 goals. That's despite the fact that we were without a RB for a while and some players even refused to play there. The previous season as I’ve pointed out, we only conceded 5 goals in 11 games he started, keeping 6 clean sheets.

That means he’s basically been hung out to dry having struggled like the rest of the team for half a season with Benitez failed attacking experiment. I’d be pretty pissed off if I was him and although I have a feeling he won’t be here come September, I really hope he does get a chance now that I’ve seen some of the facts.

I love how Insua's height always comes up, he's about the same height as Leighton Baines (if not taller than Baines) but no-one ever mentions Baines lack of height, and alot of people have said they would like us to sign Baines.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I don’t know if it’s because he looks a bit leaner, but I actually thought he did look an inch or two taller in those training pics.

I posted some similar stats a while back, IMO he has been harshly judged, he is still young and will make mistakes especially when asked to perform a role which (for a large part of that season) involved both alot of attacking and defending. When we brought the youngsters Flanagan and Robinson in they only really had to concentrate on the defensive side of the game.

and considering the above stats shows he has more headed clearances than any of the compared LB, it does seem a bit misplaced.

I’ve openly been a fan of Insua’s and always thought he got a bit of a raw deal, but I didn’t realise just how impressive his stats were considering he was deemed such a failure by so many.

I’ve recently read crap like the whole team suffers when he plays and we can’t function defensively, when evidentially we can and have. It's frustrating what people will accept as fact and argue blindly about despite their ‘opinion’ having no substance at all.

Shame he didn't get that Chinese visa as I'd have liked to see him play tomorrow.

Would be interesting seeing his stats compared to Aurelio, wonder how they would look.

In terms of possession duels our man Insua comes off best again, successfully winning the ball more times that other players, but in terms of aerial duels he comes off second best to Evra, but importantly still won more aerial duels than he lost.
