Something odd about this transfer - I get him not settling and wanting to go back to Spain.......but doubling your money selling to a club who is bankrupt seems fishy. I’d suspect foul play but these clubs are bastions of financial morality......

They refinanced their debt so that's not an issue, how it fits into their budget and Spanish FFP is another thing. I think City also got options on Barca players before any other club which drove the deal down.
How much cash actually changes hands is another issue.

Yeah, nowt dodgy about a club who can barely afford to employ a part time tea lady doubling up a club on a player who hasn't shown enough to double value.
