ffrom that gif, it looks like an uncontrolled lunge, arguably a red on its own

He's nowhere near the ball, studs up and no control of his movement

He’s 21 and he has 3 goals and 6 assists in 16 appearances.

It’s about the halfway point so if he doubles that haul that is an incredibly good first season in England for someone his age

An outfield player and I don't think there is any question that it's a red in that situation.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

First time I have heard of that, I would have thought that rule would have meant they had to wear them, football authorities are usually very strict on things that affect promotion of their sponsors.

You wouldn't get away with that in a UEFA competition.

Even Arsenal wore it on their all white kit, I thought it was odd to have a red square on the "no red" kit considering the message they were trying to give.

City should wear the badge or forfeit the tie.

Well it is a sponsor they don't like, but that sponsor helps pay the prize money for entering the competition. Perhaps they are happy to forgo their prize money from the FA Cup, but I doubt it

I was thinking that it's a shame Arsenal had to wear that big red patch on their 'no more red' kit, but assumed there was nothing that could be done about it.

                              Priorities, eh?
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Was thinking exactly the same. Have them produce a set of white ones with black lettering.
