Watched Match of the Day last night and stuck about for the City highlights. The thing that struck me was how many empty seats there were, and not up in the gods either, massive pockets of empty seats in the main stand opposite the cameras.

I can't find an attendance figure for last night, but the ground holds 53,400 and they claim every PL game has had over 53,000 except Fulham which was 52,899. Cup games tend to be less but their lowest attendance of the season is 50,204

Probably corporate tickets from all the made up companies who sponsor them

every coach/assistant at Man city from U6 up ti the 1st team get given 10 x tickets per game & if they need more they can request them.

Then local schools are offered bulk qty of tickets also, the club cannot give them away quick enough to make them appear a BIG club with huge fanbase.

It's not just the local schools / clubs that are offered tickets.

Couple of clubs that my son's pals play with have had trips down to see Citeh. No issues with 30+ tickets being provided .

At home to Burnley next Saturday

Have had to take my kids to pre-season & legends games just to get them into Anfield for a game...

I'm surprised they still have blue seats. It would make more sense to have them painted so it looks like someone is sat there to save their shame.
