They could just do a Wrexham and bring in Championship level players on Championship wages until they climbed up enough divisions to be able to pay PL wages whilst in the Championship.

Don't know. If City are anything to go by, it will be a long time before we find out if Wrexham paying Championship wages whilst in League Two came from genuine league Two revenue or if they had disproportionate amounts of revenue coming in through advertising deals totally out of whack for teams a division or two above them let alone the division they were in.

Not sure how the revenue is split, But i imagine they get a championship revenue from media, tv exposure etc. But you could argue that its worth it from an advertisers point of view with the owners attached.

City were a pimple on the arse of the big clubs and cheated the way to the top.

Difference is City was receiving sponsorship from a related party.

Wrexham have got a high media profile. They also have not been cheating various other waya and winning the league every year. People can hate them for similar reasons, but City are off the scale.

I can see Wrexham's revenue being tied to legitimate media deals & sponsorship via Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds' enterprises. They have a worldwide interest now, not multi-million pound deals with some shady middle eastern company that's non-commensurate with their profile.
