I had an old school friend that was on the books at Wednesday when David Hirst was banging the goals in left, right and centre. He tells a story of being told to go to the butty van and buy 5 mega bacon baps by 'Hirsty' at training on day. Being the 16/17 year junior he did what he was told and due arrived back with the five breakfast-sized sandwiches. Hirst scoffed the lot.

They are getting away with some real dodgy **** at Man City. If Man United were doing half of the underhand tricks that City are I think we'd all be going mental about it.

I can't see that they've done anything wrong with Lampard tbh. And he's just a back up player anyway. Chelsea didn't want him. He's free to go anywhere he wants. Chelsea should have absolutely no say in the matter.

Potentially what is wrong is that their owners paid the signing/agents fees etc via New York and then loaned him to City to take costs out of FFP consideration. Quite how dodgy it is would depend on how much of his wages City play I suppose but the negative long term implications of allowing teams to do this seem pretty obvious.

Maybe, but he's only there until January. They're getting a bench warmer for half a season.

If it sets a precedent, let's buy up LA Galaxy and play by the rules.
