I think you could make an argument for keeping him for another season, allowing him a failure this year. I certainly wish we'd done that with Benitez so, while the circumstances aren't the same, the principle still applies. It's hard to know whether internal stuff ("losing the dressing room" etc.) is (a) true and (b) important.
Equally though I can see the rationale for getting rid of him. It's a fine judgment really, and depends on how much better or more effective you think his replacement will be.
