Love that saying...'he has a mistake in him every game'.

Do defenders ever get through a game without making a mistake though ?

Find that hard to believe tbh, it's only when a mistake is punished that they really get highlighted, imo defenders are caught out of position or give the ball away more than once every game, most of the time those errors aren't punished is all.

I guess the teams setup can have a drastic effect on how defenders are seen, just like Lovren at Southampton. Also seems that it's not always good when defenders score high on tackles and interceptions, could mean they are rash and leave their position easily, like Lovren, he has good stats on paper but that's just because he's a bit headless.

Fark me, whatever amount the Arabs paid the UEFA cronies to 'lift' FFP was enough. It was definitely enough!

If this is true I think the PL trophy might as well be thrown at them right now!

I'd hoped City would have a **** transfer summer but nope they seem to have done good business, Mna Utd still look like the weakest side in the Top 4.

Manchester City are in advanced negotiations with Wolfsburg for the transfer of former Chelsea midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, Sky Germany reports.

A deal for the 24-year-old believed to be worth around 70m euros (£50.4m) is expected to be announced on Monday.

Right so they have bought a 49 million attacking winger cum no 10 (Sterling), and De Bruyne a No 10 cum winger either flank with Silva as a dedicated No 10.

Navas for width on the right and Nasri down the left. So they are both back up you'd have to say.

All that said they still only have two strikers of any track record.

                      Plus £40m on Otamendi!

                      We're playing a different game aren't we. It's a joke.
                      *Except Michael, who died.

It's ridiculous. Teams should be capped at £50m spending each window, regardless of what they bring in. The way things are going there'll be 4 teams that own all the players and loan them out as they see fit.

I don't get why they need ginger Kev as well as Raheem.

Surely they would do better buying one of them and spending the other spare £50m on Aguero cover? If Aguero crocks again where are the goals coming from? Have I forgotten one of their strikers again? Santa Cruz isn't still on the payroll is he?

They have two teenagers - Patrick Roberts and someone else as back up!

Of course you could argue that they will get goals from Toure, Silva, de Bruyne, Sterling which they will but any club that goes into a PL/CL season with two strikers of any stature is asking for trouble.

                              I'd forgotten about Wilfried

Still not great though is it?

Takes the piss. De Bruyne isn't a certainty to tear up the league but still....there's something quite demotivating about watching most of our rivals spunking themselves silly left, right and centre.
