Love that saying...'he has a mistake in him every game'.
Do defenders ever get through a game without making a mistake though ?
Find that hard to believe tbh, it's only when a mistake is punished that they really get highlighted, imo defenders are caught out of position or give the ball away more than once every game, most of the time those errors aren't punished is all.

I guess the teams setup can have a drastic effect on how defenders are seen, just like Lovren at Southampton. Also seems that it's not always good when defenders score high on tackles and interceptions, could mean they are rash and leave their position easily, like Lovren, he has good stats on paper but that's just because he's a bit headless.Originally posted by red g View PostHeard some European #'expert[ on Talksport saying he was we;; overpriced, One great season but wasnt all that at Porto and always has a mistake a game.* The above is posted in my opinion. Right so they have bought a 49 million attacking winger cum no 10 (Sterling), and De Bruyne a No 10 cum winger either flank with Silva as a dedicated No 10.
Navas for width on the right and Nasri down the left. So they are both back up you'd have to say.
All that said they still only have two strikers of any track record.

I don't get why they need ginger Kev as well as Raheem.
Surely they would do better buying one of them and spending the other spare £50m on Aguero cover? If Aguero crocks again where are the goals coming from? Have I forgotten one of their strikers again? Santa Cruz isn't still on the payroll is he?

They have two teenagers - Patrick Roberts and someone else as back up!Originally posted by Saveloy View PostI don't get why they need ginger Kev as well as Raheem.

Of course you could argue that they will get goals from Toure, Silva, de Bruyne, Sterling which they will but any club that goes into a PL/CL season with two strikers of any stature is asking for trouble.
