Would've been better if they'd signed him and then this came out a week later

Pep Guardiola will be absent from Manchester City's next two Premier League games after undergoing back surgery in Barcelona.
A statement from the Premier League champions says their manager has been struggling with back pain for some time and has undergone emergency surgery in Barcelona.
Guardiola's surgery was successful but he will continue his rehabilitation in the city. The 52-year-old is not expected to be back on the touchline for City until after the international break, meaning he will miss this Sunday's trip to Sheffield United, live on Sky Sports, as well as the visit of Fulham on September 2.
In his absence, Juanma Lillo - who only returned to the club as assistant manager earlier this month after undergoing a spell as Al Sadd manager in Qatar - will take charge of training and matches for the treble winners.
he is talented & thats the subtley of how the likes of Mancs, etc can operate; if we signed him it would need to be a marquee signing, whereas for them his is a squad player; every year the gap widens & we cannot complete even with Klopp at the helm

Exactly. He is good enough to be a squad player to help make up the numbers for them.
For us he would need to be a nailed on starter that excels in order to help us catch the team he is not good enough to be a starter for.

Doku is an interesting signing for them. He looks absolutely brain dead to me. A speed merchant dribbler with no end product and little end product. How does he fit into their style of play? Seems a mis-match to me.

Think at the moment he is very raw and at only 21 that is not really surprising.
He is an insane dribbler and carrier of the ball though. Beats players for fun and has a savage burst of pace when he needs it.
Does look as though his close control would make it easier for him to be good under pressure and his skillset potentially would make him a nightmare for teams that like to play with a low block and also those that play with a high line.
Could turn out to be the next Sterling or Wright Philips but also looks to have all the tools to be a Sadio Mane or Vinicius junior style player ( not saying he would be as good as those two but more being able to play like them in a very effective manner as a lot of what he does on the pitch is like watching Vini Junior when he wa more raw)

Is it no end product or little end product, I'm so confused?!
