I think supporting a lower tier team is a bit different. You know what to expect so when a win comes along you cheer it and a loss is a loss, no big deal really. But if you have a team thats doing well almost every time and the only reason they dont win the league is because other team cheats their way up and gets favoured calls throughout the season, it makes you wonder what the point even is anymore.

What I dont understand is why clubs dont swarm the pgmol after games where garbage is done, like Luis' 1m onside goal that was disallowed. We're a good 6-9 points off because of biased calls. Not simple oh its just a little mistake. We're talking outright cheating so we dont win a match. If city can go at them with lawyers why exactly are we sitting and enjoying them allowing city to take our trophy.

But it will be sweet to watch Arsenal fans experience the inevitability of City winning this.

Of course not, but a lot of people cannot understand that some feed off the optimism and instead those folk tend to focus on worst case scenarios and then paint it as some kind of "well I'm a realist and if I expect the worst I cannot be disappointed" kind of thing.

Personally I prefer the technicolour dream for as long as it lasts over the drab grey of expecting the worst. You know that the dream is unlikely, but when it does happen it burns bright.

City and their ilk are ruining the sport more than any other finanically doped club in the past imo, so will take whatever enjoyment I can from the game in the here and now before the life gets squeezed out of it along with all the other sports that are being systematically altered by many of the same money nations.

Maybe Klopp was the last real big difference maker in terms of getting that enjoyment and optimism fix, maybe Slot (if he is to be the one) can keep the fire burning a bit longer.

I carry the same sort of optimism into going to Cork City FC games (and boy is it needed there most of the time lol) and just see it as part of how I follow sport.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Yeah we are pretty similar in terms of how we view/approach this.

I don't know that I ever knew this
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Hahahaha I’d not heard of that before either. Glad it was us that sent them down too.

Rumours are the PL and City are already managing the outcome of the charges not standing up to scrutiny, i.e. they will get thrown out over various technicalities.

I dont see how they can sweep this under the carpet given the PL has succedfully enforced points deductions on Forest and Everton for less.

How do you stage manage that out of the door and retain credibility.

We will see. But it also feels similar to the last days of Rangers, when the weight of evidence became massive. And then it was done, they were demoted to the bottom of League football.

Does the PL have the balls? I guess we will find out soon.
