Yeah, it would be a bit hollow and doesn't really benefit us as Man U would've won the same many as us anywayOriginally posted by Sus View PostThey can be stripped of their titles and not be given to the runners up - that’s happened before in Italy
I wouldn’t want those titles added to our list - we didn’t win them, and we didn’t celebrate them
Would be the equivalent of stat padding

Good point actuallyOriginally posted by Mark79 View Post**** it, I'd take them.
We've been robbed of being CL and PL double winners and a domestic treble.
Nothing can make up for not being able to have those moments or the celebrations, but at least the records and history books would be correct.

Not sure I would want them awarded to 2nd place, firstly the team in 2nd doesn't IMO always deserve it - if there is a run away leader the team in third may have other things to concentrate on in the latter stages of the season, drop points or rest players because of cup finals or latter stages of CL, we're there not a runaway leader 2nd and 3rd place are in a title race and things would likely play out differently in that case. Obviously there are cases where the 2nd place team clearly would have won e.g our 97 point 2nd place.
I agree with the comment about stat padding really, it would be nice for the players involved to get medals but as a fan it would be meaningless football is about the moments going back and saying that Rodgers won the title back in 2013-14 takes something away from the 2019-20 title and the celebrations of this one. It feels like creating a version of history which doesn't add up. E.g. had Rodgers won the League, he'd be unlikely to be sacked a year and a half laterThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

I think that aspect is irrelevant in the scheme of things.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostNot sure I would want them awarded to 2nd place, firstly the team in 2nd doesn't IMO always deserve it - if there is a run away leader the team in third may have other things to concentrate on in the latter stages of the season, drop points or rest players because of cup finals or latter stages of CL, we're there not a runaway leader 2nd and 3rd place are in a title race and things would likely play out differently in that case. Though I think Rodgers would have been sacked even if he had won the title.
FSG and Rodgers always had a dysfunctional relationship and a title win wouldn’t have changed that dynamic.
Suarez would still have left for Barcelona.
The money would still have been largely squandered do to Rodgers being at odds with FSG’s recruitment structure.
We’d still have nose dived post title.
The man that FSG had hunted for years would still have become available in late 2015. It would have taken a very strong relationship with Rodgers for FSG not to have taken their chance to finally get their ideal manager, regardless of a title win the year previously..

Maybe, maybe not, but if he had become the man who brought the league title back after nearly 25 years, he would be viewed alot differently by the fans, and that would certainly have made it more difficult to sack him regardless.Originally posted by Mark79 View PostI think that aspect is irrelevant in the scheme of things.

FSG sacked the club’s greatest legend after winning them their first silverware as owners.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostMaybe, maybe not, but if he had become the man who brought the league title back after nearly 25 years, he would be viewed alot differently by the fans, and that would certainly have made it more difficult to sack him regardless.
They wouldn’t have blinked at sacking Rodgers, even after a title..

Wonder would the likes of Rodgers come back and point to contract bonuses etc in the event of title wins. Some can of worms. But only fair..... especially when lfc themselves have the potential to come back for prize money. This could then lead lfc and others to come out and point at the lose revenue beyond tangiable prize money after winning a league.
