Under investigation for over 3 years, CPS have the case files for over 6 months, charges filed 4 days after contract expires when a new one could not be successfully negotiated. I don't know much about the inner workings of the legal system but a cynic could conclude this was all rather too convenient.
The Gooner PM was formerly DPP - head of the CPS. Go figure…

Seems unlikely the CPS would wait for him to finish the season. More likely they realised he was about to leave the country so they came to a decision before he did.

The CPS having the files for over 6 months suggests the matter isn’t clear-cut so every chance he’ll be found not guilty? Or this country is even more broken than I realised.

Arteta actually bigged the guy up publicly knowing that there was this rape investigation ongoing.....no defending that imo.

If they happened to win any competition last year then it would definitely be tainted.
TBF to the Eve, they did the right thing on Sigurðsson even tho it cost them an absolute fortune in wages and no chance to recoup a fee.

I might not be paid as much for my opinion as a lawyer is buit I can still find a solution that is simple. Don't ****ing slect him. Not for a starting XI, not for a matchday squad. You might have to pay him but you don't have to play him.

If he is found guilty, all those tricky questions will be asked again, and they'll have no ongoing legal case to hide behind.

Norgaard will be a very important signing for them, a solid dm.
