Will see how they both get on next season. One is joining an ambitious club obviously on an upward trajectory. The other is joining a club at an inflection point who need to get their current rebuild right or they risk losing their generational manager.

The 70m difference in fee only matters if lfc spend that on additional players that we require.

So if you said Rice or MacAllister + Szoboszlai then that might have been a better argument.

Last season could have been a fluke for Arsenal and a Blip for us.

Pretty sure our improvement this season will be a lot higher than Arsenals due to our starting pint.

Some outlets are saying it is €15m with a potential extra 10m in add ons if set conditions are met.

Could see Xhaka fitting in nicely in the current Leverkusen team for a few seasons.

Could be one of those deals that suits both clubs.

Though he does have a lot of players there that are tasty on the ball. Wirtz looks like he might be something special. Is only the same age as Harvey Elliot and already becoming a regular in the German national team.


Leverkusen are a very pragmatic team under Xabi. You can really see an identity to how the team is set up and how it works as a unit.

Very much a thinking man's set up in many respects. Bodes well for Xabi's future as a manager imo.

Feels like quite a bad deal tbh. He was pretty good for them in the second half of the season and when Partey got injured he more than did a job for them. Seems to weaken them in the hopes Rice will replace him.
